BEIJING - Thirty-five cases involving bribery, embezzlement and other disciplinary charges were closed in China in the first five months of the year, the country's top auditing body said on Wednesday.

Of all the cases, accepting bribes was the most common criminal activity among local officials, including Du Bidong, a transport official in Shaanxi Province who was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment for accepting 4.51 million yuan (about 730,000 US dollars) in bribes, according to the NAO.
