Two officials in the Ministry of Commerce have been punished for violating the Party's rules, the ministry announced on June 11.
The ministry has enhanced its auditing and supervision of State-funded projects and has punished officials who have broken the rules of the Communist Party of China, according to a statement released by the ministry.
The statement gives no further details about the punishment of the two officials.
The ministry has canceled seven forums in an effort to save public expenses and boost frugality, according to the statement.
The measures are aimed at tackling the problems found by an inspection team dispatched by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, the country's top anti-graft watchdog.
The inspectors said on Feb 15 that officials in the ministry have sought private gains with the power of distributing project funds.
