Guangzhou to host international dragon boat races

An international dragon boat invitation tournament will be held in the Pearl River on Saturday, organizers said on Wednesday.

Teams from seven countries and regions including Hong Kong, Macao, Australia, Russia, Malaysia, the United States and the Netherlands will join the competition with their counterparts from Guangzhou, Guangdong province, and six neighboring cities during the annual event, according to the organizing committee.

Shipping services in the section between the Guangzhou Bridge and the Haiyin Bridge along the Pearl River will be suspended on Saturday, organizers said.
