BEIJING - The Chinese mainland will continue its search for a tourist from Taiwan who went missing after a traffic accident in Fujian province, a mainland spokesman said on Wednesday.
Seventeen Taiwan tourists were injured and another seven went missing after their bus plunged into a river in Hua'an county in South China's Fujian province on May 23.
The injured have all been saved. As of Wednesday, rescuers had found six bodies of the missing tourists, said Ma Xiaoguang, spokesman with the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, at a regular press conference.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident and have initiated compensation work, according to Ma.
