Police in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region captured a five-member terrorist group in Hotan and discovered 1.8 metric tons of raw materials for explosive devices and a large quantity of semi-finished explosives on Monday, ts.cn reported.
The group, led by Abuliz Dawut, planned to carry out a terror attack in the populous area of Hotan, similar to an attack in Urumqi on May 22, in which two vehicles were driven deliberately into a crowd and explosives were thrown from them, according to the police.
