The second Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation youth camp focused on skilled trades and technology began in Beijing on Wednesday.
Wang Xiaochu, vice-minister of human resources and social security, said China has attached great importance to skills training and improving the level of competency among youth, when he delivered the keynote speech at the opening ceremony on Wednesday.
The eight-day camp will further boost friendship among the young generation in the Asia Pacific region, he told more than 90 campers from 15 APEC member states, including Canada and China.
