A pair of pandas from Chengdu, China will arrive in their new home in the Malaysia Panda Exhibition Hall in Kuala Lumpur early Wednesday morning, 21st Century Business Herald reported on Tuesday.

A handover ceremony will be held in Tuesday at the Dujiangyan base of the China Conservation & Research Center for the Giant Panda.

Rather than meet with the public immediately, the pandas first will adjust themselves to the local environment until the Malaysians announce the date of their debut to the public.

According to the report, Malaysia has agreed to more than 10 million yuan ($1.6 million) in fiscal expenditures that will be used as living expenses for the two pandas.

The construction of the pandas' house began in April last year with an investment of 25 million ringgit ($7.8 million). The habitat covers 1.6 acres and includes a nursery, an X-ray room, panda bedrooms, a veterinary clinic, monitoring rooms, a laboratory and a kitchen.

In addition, there are souvenir shops, cafes and lounge area available for visitors.

About 2,800-3,600 visitors are expected daily at the maximum and each visitor will be limited to 30 minutes in the panda house.

The shipment of the two pandas, which was initially scheduled for April, has been delayed out of respect for the feelings of the families who lost loved ones on the missing Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 in March.

China agreed to lend two pandas, named "Fuwa" and "Fengyi", to Malaysia for 10 years via the Giant Panda International Conservation Cooperation Agreement Program, in honor of the 40th Anniversary since the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Malaysia, which falls on May 31 this month.
