China's supreme court to publish typical cases monthly

BEIJING - China's Supreme People's Court (SPC) will publish exemplary cases on a monthly basis, creating a more open and transparent judicial system.

Publisizing typical cases will help the public understand how the law works, Wang Ling of the SPC told press conference on Wednesday. The SPC began disclosing judicial process and putting judicative papers on the Internet last year. Five cases were published on Wednesday.

Previously, the SPC published such cases, only occasionally. In February and March, 18 cases were published in total, covering areas ranging from copyright protection, doctor-patient disputes, administrative litigation to business disputes and environmental protection.

Those published on Wednesday includes "Qihoo 360 versus Tencent", a 2010 high-profile online monopoly case between China's two Internet giants.
