KUNMING/HARBIN - Forest fires broke out on Tuesday in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province and southwest China's Yunnan Province, local authorities said.
More than 3,400 firefighters, soldiers and three helicopters are putting out a fire which broke out at 10:45 a.m. in Woduhe forest in Nenjiang County, Heilongjiang province.
A forest fire broke out at 3:50 p.m. at Xiaguan Town in the city of Dali in Yunnan province. More than 370 firefighters have been fighting the fire as of 5 p.m..
Both fires are still burning. Investigations into the cause of the fires are under way.
