Clean, safe drinking water is a luxury for students at Nongxin Primary School in Lingyun county, Guangxi province.
The school, deep in the mountains, suffers from water scarcity due to the harsh natural environment. Teachers and students do not have access to fresh water so have to depend on supplies from the government or buying it from outside regions.
Every student is allowed to use just one bottle of water per day, which includes rice-rinsing and washing face and hands and brushing teeth.
Some students have to take one to two bottles from home every week to supply their daily needs.
