Man dies after being hit by model plane

An old man in Zhengzhou, capital of Henan province, has died after being hit by a model airplane, Zhengzhou Evening News reported on Monday.

Wang Rongzhou, 67, a farmer in the village of Shuiniuzhang, was hit by the model plane at about 4 pm on Saturday while riding his tricycle on a newly built road that had not been opened, where some model plane fans were flying the miniatures.

Wang was quickly taken to a hospital but died of serious kidney injuries at about 2:30 am on Sunday.

The model plane owner, surnamed Hou, a 50-year-old resident of the city, was detained by police who said they had never dealt with such a case before.

The airplane model weighed about 1 kilogram.
