BEIJING - Three more people were confirmed to be infected with H7N9 bird flu in three provinces, health authorities said Saturday.
Infection of a man, 35, from Wuxi city in East China's Jiangsu province was confirmed on Friday night, according to the provincial health department.
The man, surnamed Qian, is in critical condition, according to the department.
A 72-year-old man from Fuqing city in East China's Fujian province was also confirmed as infected on Friday, bringing the total infections in the province this year to 17, of whom five had died.
A 55-year-old woman from Boluo county of the neighboring Guangdong province was also confirmed to be infected with the bird flu. She was in critical condition, according to the provincial health department.
China has reported more than 120 human H7N9 cases this year, including at least 36 deaths.
