Unified communications provider Polycom has developed the first video collaboration software based on the Web browser, which company officials say will make videoconferencing easier and extend the enterprise-level videoconference to every individual.

Li Gang, managing director for Greater China of the California-based company, said on March 27 that Polycom has always been pushing the RealPresence services, while enabling video conferencing on not only big screens and mobile devices using the iOS and Android systems, but Web browsers as well.

Li said the video collaboration software will also benefit the medical and educational fields in the country.

Consumers can invite a friend on the computer's address book and even those on Facebook and Google Talk to a video conference by sending a link that will lead the recipient to the videoconference.
