A father in Huangpi, Hubei province, is paying off 100,000 yuan ($16,145) of debt on his son's five credit cards and has asked the banks never again to issue credit cards to his son, Wuhan Evening News reported on Tuesday.
The man, surnamed Leng, said his son had obtained five credit cards from several banks and owed more than 100,000 yuan of principal plus interest for the past few years.
"My son is 26 years old, but he is not yet sensible. I discussed with the banks to pay the debt and requested they never issue credit cards again to my son," Leng said. As a migrant worker, Leng is not rich but he had paid back some 60,000 yuan and planned to pay the remainder as soon as possible.
