More than 3,000 hectares of land will be expropriated for the construction of the new Beijing airport, and 11 villages are set to be relocated to avoid the noise of the planes taking off and landing, People's Daily reported Wednesday.
Another 48 villages, schools and hospitals near the construction site in the Daxing district of the capital will take measures to tackle noise pollution, said the second version of the environmental evaluation proclamation on the airport construction project, which was issued on Wednesday.
According to the proclamation, the new airport is feasible if a series of measures are taken effectively to alleviate the noise and aircraft exhausts.
The proclamation will be open to public opinion until April 1.
The capital's new international airport will be built in Lixian town and Yufa town in the southern part of Beijing. It's scheduled to be completed by the end of 2018.
