A man suffering from mental health problems has been ordered put under compulsory medical treatment by a Shanghai court after injuring two people with poisonous darts he made, Shanghai Morning Post reported.
In August, the man, surnamed Zhao, shot two darts at two random passersby in the district. The darts contained succinylcholine, a drug used clinically lower blood pressure, which can cause anaphylactic shock and muscle paralysis within seconds.
The passersby, one of whom was hit in the head and one in the back, have recovered, the report said.
Zhao told police he bought the drug and the darts on the Internet.
