Hebei province plans to attract around 200 domestic and foreign experts in environmental protection and start 50 projects in the next four years to adjust its economic structure and control pollution.
As part of its four-year plan, the province, which is listed as having some of the most serious air pollution in China, will build 10 model industrial bases and seek to attract 50 overseas professionals to 10 projects with cutting-edge technology in 2014, Hebei Daily reported on Tuesday.
The projects will involve coal power, iron and steel making and the petrochemical industry, with the aim of upgrading the current heavy industry oriented structure, a major cause of the province's lingering smog.
Hebei will also further its cooperation with Beijing and Tianjin to control air pollution, sharing experts and new technologies.
