A research team from Tongji University in Shanghai has successfully completed a test flight of a micro electronic glider, which was modeled on a flying fish.
To avoid attacks from sharks and other fish, flying fish often jump out of the water and glide in the air. Data shows some flying fish can jump as high as 1 meter as glide more than 10 meters.
Based on this, the research team printed a model of a flying fish through 3D technology, and carried out a series of bionics work, including wind tunnel testing, dynamic testing and micro glider manufacturing.
The team announced on Monday that it successfully completed a test flight of the micro electronic glider.
