The Aeon Group plans to open 15 shopping centers in Hubei and Guangdong provinces by the end of 2016.
The Japanese retailer is expected to operate 20 shopping centers according. Between 2011 and 2013, its investment in China has reached 4.1 billion yuan ($672 million).
The Aeon Group is expected to add more than 50 new food supermarkets by 2016 in China, three times the number they currently have.
Their retail business in China posted solid growth in the first nine months of last year. Despite slowed personal consumption in China due to government campaigns to reduce public spending by government officials, they have strengthened product promotions oriented around local tastes and seasonal demand.
