A bureau official in Mizhi county, Shaanxi province, has been removed from his position for using public funds to build a road to his ancestral grave, South China Metropolis Daily reported on Wednesday.
Li Qingsuo, 48, former director of the county's water bureau, was exposed by a netizen online on Nov 27, 2013, for illegally using public funds to build a 1-km road from the village of Jicha, Li's hometown, to an ancestral grave on top of a mountain. Li later said the road was built using his own money.
The local discipline inspection organ investigated the case on Feb 5 and found that Li used some 100,000 yuan ($16,331) of public funds for the road, and decided to remove him from his position on Monday.
