A driver in Chongqing drove his bus to a police station to try to catch a wallet thief on Sunday.
The driver, Yang Kun, heard a woman on the bus shout that her wallet had been stolen. A man standing next to the woman told her a person getting off the bus was the thief, but she believed the thief was still on the bus and asked the driver to shut the doors and drive to a police station.
A few minutes later, the wallet was found on the floor. Some passengers who took the bus to catch trains and were afraid the trip to the police station might make them miss the connection, pressured the woman to give up, some even warning of possible revenge from the thief.
Believing that the thief should be found for the passengers' sake, the driver decided to still drive the bus to the police station.
Police questioned a suspect, who later confessed he had taken the woman's wallet. The man, who is a drug addict and has served terms in prison for theft, is now under criminal detention.
