A man in Shanghai received a five-month prison sentence with a five-month reprieve on Tuesday for slashing 25 clothes with a razor blade at a supermarket a month after store clerks caught him stealing a piece of pork, Jiefang Daily reported.
The man, surnamed Dong, was caught sneaking a piece of frozen pork out of a supermarket on February 2013. He confessed to the theft and paid the store.
In March, he returned to the store and slashed a number of T-shirts and jackets with a razor blade. Three days later, he returned again to vandalize the store but was caught. The store lost 7,330 yuan ($1,200) in damaged clothing, according to the supermarket.
The Zhabei District People's Court made the ruling.
