Luohu District People's Court in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, has not yet made a final ruling on a lawsuit filed on Friday by a male resident against a woman he described as his live-in girlfriend, Southern Metropolis Daily reported.

Lan Zhizhen, 58, a political adviser in Luohu district, asked to end his cohabitation with Gan Xiaojuan, 56, a retired director of the district bureau of housing management, and divide equally the properties they own.

Lan, who is also a senior doctor, and Gan have lived together for more than a decade. Lan said he has been cheated into a virtual marriage by Gan.

He also reported that Gan has two ID cards and owns many houses in Shenzhen, which borders the Hong Kong special administrative region.

"Gan used public funds to travel abroad many times and illegally did business when she was in office," Lan said.

Gan denied Lan's charges, saying Lan is just a friend of hers. Gan said Lan went to court only because they had an economic dispute.

The court is now arranging to open another public hearing for the case.
