HEFEI - An estimated 20 miners were trapped in a coal mine accident on Tuesday morning in east China's Anhui Province, said local safety supervision authorities.
At 9:55 a.m. Tuesday, a roof collapse occurred at Zhuji coal mine in Huainan City, according to the Anhui Provincial Department of Safety Supervision.
As of 2 p.m., one trapped miner had been lifted and about twenty others remained trapped in the mine, according to the Huainan Mining Industry Co., Ltd., a state-owned group of the Zhuji coal mine.
Rescue teams have been sent to the accident site.
