Subway worker prevents suicide

A Beijing subway employ rescued a woman who attempted suicide by standing between the two tracks of subway Line 1 on Wednesday.

Beijing Times reported on Thursday that the middle-aged woman jumped off the platform at Gongzhufen Station at 12:25 pm and then stood in the middle of the tracks, according to witnesses.

An employee named Wang Chen rescued the woman by pulling her out of the region.

The incident did not affect the operation of the subway.

The case is still under investigation, the report said.
