ST PETERSBURG, Russia - President Xi Jinping met Thursday with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin before the Group of 20 (G20) summit.

The two leaders are expected to exchange views on major global and regional issues, as well as ways to advance bilateral cooperation on key projects and uplift the strategic coordination between China and Russia on international and regional affairs.

This is the second meeting between Xi and Putin within half a year after Xi paid a state visit to Russia in March.
