Nation to beef up metrological supervision
China will intensify supervision of metrology in key sectors including energy and resources in the next few years to reduce emissions, Pu Changcheng, deputy director of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, said on Friday.
A complete system will be established before 2020 to collect the metrological data of energy and resource consumption of 10,000 key energy-consuming enterprises in China on a real-time basis, according to a recently issued plan on the development of metrology, he said.
Major progress is expected to be made in metrological technology, services and supervision of metrology in the next few years to bring economic and social benefits, including in high-tech development, environment and food safety, Pu said.
