Five college students drowned in the Yangtze River in East China's Anhui province on Sunday.
Seven students got into difficulties while playing in the water near Laozhou village in Tongling, a city alongside the river, at 10:50 am, according to the city's emergency office. Two were saved by a rescue team dispatched by the public security and maritime authorities after receiving a report.
One survivor is still receiving treatment in Tongling People's Hospital.
The five victims were studying in two colleges in Tongling and were aged between 18 and 21.
