Seat scramble results in fight

(chinadaily.com.cn) Updated: 2012-04-20 11:12

A riot occurred at the Shandong Normal University in East China's Shandong province after students from different institutes had a conflict over seats in a classroom, local news portal iqilu.com reported on Thursday.

A video clip shows a student wrestled another down while another pair is engaging in a fight on a platform in a classroom full of onlookers.

The clash was triggered by disagreement over seats, which have been scarce in the university.

Authorities made rules earlier this month that order students who are cramming for the national entrance examination for postgraduate students to only use the classrooms of their institutes.

In the above incident on Monday night, students from the College of Liberal Arts were asked to leave the room which belongs to another college, according to a blogger.
