A software application called "Dongguan Sauna Information" has been taken off the market after residents of Dongguan, Guangdong province, complained that it besmirched the city's reputation.
The application offered information on saunas and hotels in the Pearl River delta city, but included sexually oriented photographs and other prurient material as well.
Apple Corp's AppStore did not reply to inquiries about the application, but it was no longer available on Tuesday.
