HANGZHOU - Two people were confirmed dead after a cement storage tank collapsed Wednesday in east Hangzhou city in Zhejiang province, local authorities said.
The accident occurred at 4 am in Wangming sand factory in Yuhang district. A 30-meter-high cement storage tank toppled onto a two-story building and a truck parked beside it, trapping five people, local police said.
A woman and a baby, who were pulled out by 9:10 am, were confirmed dead, police said.
The two rescued are being treated in hospital but their injuries are not life-threatening, police said.
Rescuers are continuing to search for the one trapped in the truck. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
