The Ministry of Education is planning to allow children of migrant workers who live in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangdong to take part in local university enrollment exams, education vice-minister Du Yubo said at the sidelines of the ongoing Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference session.
Since the number of these non-resident students is on the increase in the two cities and province, proper measures will be taken to ensure the rights and interests of students who are residents of these areas, he added.
