An 84-year-old man is suing his children after he got sick from sleeping on his daughter's doorstep for four days during Spring Festival, Xinhua reported Monday.
He Daxing, claims his six children made an agreement to support him in 2008, but he became ill after he was forced to sleep outside for several days during the holidays in Chongqing. The frail man was eventually carried home by another group of youngsters.
His youngest daughter claims she could not look after her father because he she was always treated inferior to her brothers.
The man's other daughter also said when their former family home was demolished the compensation was given to her brothers. She also claims a loan of 100,000 yuan was not repaid.
The old man's other children all refused to take their father home for other reasons not stated.
The community residents' committee has given He Daxing 1,000 yuan for medical fees and will help him take the case to court.
