BEIJING - Special representatives from China and India will meet to discuss border issues from January 15 to 17 in India, a Foreign Ministry spokesman said Saturday.

Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo and Indian National Security Adviser Shiv Shankar Menon will attend the upcoming boundary talk, known as the 15th meeting between special representatives on Sino-Indian border issues, spokesman Liu Weimin said.

China and India share a 2,000-km border, which has never been formally delimited. The two began to discuss border issues in the 1980s.

Two agreements were signed in 1993 and 1996, respectively, to maintain peace and stability in border areas.
