A farmer has helped 27 vagrants reconnect with their loved-ones in his quest to find his own missing relative.

Li Benxuan, a farmer in East China's Fujian province has aided 79 vagrants and helped 27 of them find their family members despite not discovering his own relative.

Li and his wife toured their province to find his father-in-law who went missing in February 2010. They checked every vagrant they came across. "I don't know why. Whenever I see a vagrant I just want to help him/her out," said Li. The sorrow of a lost relative makes him more understanding to those with the same experience.

The couple has spent more than 10 thousand yuan ($ 1,568) on charity work since March last year. Currently, they have seven vagrants with disabilities in their home. Whenever they go out to search for their lost relative, their daughter who has just graduated from university takes care of the vagrants.

Recently, the local relief authority has been negotiating accepting the seven vagrants.
