BEIJING - The Chinese mainland is "glad to see" the screening of Taiwan's war epic, "Warriors of the Rainbow: Seediq Bale," a mainland official said on Wednesday.
"We are willing to offer help if its producer requests letting it enter the mainland film market," said Fan Liqing, spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, at a press conference.
The much-anticipated film directed by Wei Te-sheng tells the well-known story of a local battle against the Japanese forces that ruled Taiwan from 1895 to 1945.
The film has already set box-office records with advance-ticket sales in Taiwan.
