WUHAN - About 100 people were trapped after mudslides triggered by heavy downpours hit Central China's Hubei province on Monday morning, said local authorities.
The debris of the mudslides covered some parts of the National Highway 209 in Xingshan county and Shennongjia forest district, said a spokesman with the county's fire control authorities.
The rubble buried several vehicles on the highway, said the spokesman, adding that casualties were not immediately known.
