A glance at a 20-something deputy of the NPC

Bi Hongzhen answers a phone at her own mini-mart in Pingliang city, Gansu province, on Feb 24. Born in the 1980s, Bi Hongzhen is an ethnic Hui and a deputy of the National People's Congress (NPC), China's legislature. As one of the few local Hui women to finish high school, she taught at a primary school for two years.
