Bi Hongzhen milks a cow at home in Pingliang city, Northwest China's Gansu province, Feb 24. Born in the 1980s, Bi Hongzhen is an ethnic Hui and a deputy of the National People's Congress (NPC), China's legislature. As one of the few local Hui women to finish high school, she taught at a primary school for two years.
