13 die in Northwest China landlide

LANZHOU - Thirteen workers were killed and two others survived in a landslide in Northwest China's Gansu province Saturday, said local authorities.

A total of 15 people were trapped in a landslide that occurred at 1:40 am Saturday at Huating county, Pingliang city, said the provincial government's emergency response office in a statement.

All the trapped were found as of 6 am and sent to local hospital where thirteen died after treatment failed as of 8:30 am. The other two show normal vital signs, it said.
