Azudi Chukwunonso Christian, Nigerian, was sentenced to life in prison and with personal assets confiscated, according to verdict of a first instance trial Thursday by the Intermediate People's Court of Changsha, Hunan Province.

The 1,488-gram drugs, mostly heroin, were found in buttons of 18 one-piece dresses carried by Vietnamese woman But Thi Kim Lien at Changsha Huanghua Airport on March 19, 2009.

She was sentenced to 15 years in prison with 100,000 yuan out of her personal assets confiscated for working for the two Nigerians.

Nwachukwu Nelson, the other Nigerian, was given a 3-year jail sentence and a 10,000-yuan fine.

The three foreign nationals will be deported after discharged from prison, the court ruling says.

So far, the three have not decided to appeal or not.
