CHANGSHA - Two Nigerian men and a Vietnamese woman have been given prison sentences for smuggling 1.5 kilograms of narcotics to China, a court in central China said Friday.
The 1,488-gram drugs, mostly heroin, were found in buttons of 18 one-piece dresses carried by Vietnamese woman But Thi Kim Lien at Changsha Huanghua Airport on March 19, 2009.
She was sentenced to 15 years in prison with 100,000 yuan out of her personal assets confiscated for working for the two Nigerians.
Nwachukwu Nelson, the other Nigerian, was given a 3-year jail sentence and a 10,000-yuan fine.
The three foreign nationals will be deported after discharged from prison, the court ruling says.
So far, the three have not decided to appeal or not.
