China Daily released its application for iPad as Apple Inc.'s tablet computers went on sale at Apple stores in the United States on April 3, becoming the first media outlet in China to land on iPad.
Data released by Apple Inc. shows it sold more than 300,000 units on its launch day. On the same day, several thousand people who just bought iPad downloaded and used the China Daily application recommended by App store.

As early as September 6, 2009, China Daily's news application "China Daily News App" entered the App Store, becoming the first print media in China to land on the application store. Nearly 100,000 of Apple's clients have downloaded China Daily News App in half a year, with clients from the United States and Europe accounting for more than 85%.
