Thai News Agency quoted Thailand's Industry Minister Charnchai Chairungrueng as saying that starting Sunday, about 400 Chinese investors will participate in the trade and investment seminar with Thai investors.

The number is higher than the earlier anticipation of 300 some participants made by the Board of Investment (BoI) in May.

Highlights of the event include a meeting on Monday on trade and investment opportunities as well as business match-making and networking. The meeting will focus on Thailand's potential, the government's investment promotion policy and success stories of Chinese investors in Thailand.

The visit and talks come after BoI opened a new overseas office in Beijing on April 2, said Charnchai, adding that all these measures are amid the attempt to boost investment between the two countries to reach "not less than 20 billion baht (US$589 million) this year".
