Events or programs suitable for busking within the Expo Site Busking refers to those cultural performances staged for visitors within the Expo Site that are characterized by size (small scale), flexibility, variety, mobility and interaction with the audience. This is an event pattern aimed at demonstrating various cultures, exhilarating the audience and raising the general atmosphere within the Expo Site. (1) Contents to be publicly solicited Events or programs suitable for busking within the Expo Site include clown performances, small magic shows, kids' shows, stilt performances, mimes, puppet performances, live sculptures, sport gymnastics and dances, solo instrumentals and martial arts performances. Performers will be limited to 10 people although the performance arrangement is flexible in terms of the number of shows that can be performed. (2) Performance arrangement Performance sites will mainly be located at the entrances and exits of the Expo Site, in key pavilions, in major squares and in queuing areas that are densely crowded. The Expo organizer can make temporary arrangements for performance sites as required on a case-by-case basis. The organizer will provide convenient access to the Expo Site. Performers shall provide themselves with the necessary garments, cosmetics, stage properties and instruments. Community activities publicly solicited by Expo 2010 Shanghai China from various districts and counties within Shanghai Community programs are composed of various cultural performances produced and performed by residents. They are supposed to represent the features typical of local communities in Shanghai and promote mass participation in various formats while being attractive to most of the public. Public squares or stages will serve as suitable performance venues. (1) Contents to be publicly solicited mainly include the following four categories: (a) Events falling into the cultural and artistic category, which refers to various programs consistent with the theme of Expo 2010 Shanghai China. They must also represent regional features and characteristics of the era, which are being prepared, directed and performed by community residents to show community culture from a local perspective in various forms of artistic rendition. (b) Events using elements of folklore, folk arts and folk customs that offer artistic features, appreciable value, entertainment appeal and audience integration. (c) Cultural, sporting and body-building events, which refers to mass events reflecting and advocating patterns and ideas of modern urban life, to be extensively conducted in Shanghai communities. (d) Other events with features, which refers to those cultural and recreational activities consistent with the theme of the 2010 Expo. They must reflect certain features of Shanghai locals other than those that fall into the three aforementioned categories. (2) Performance arrangement The Expo organizer will offer an appropriate performance site suitable to the program and its performance scale. All programs must first pass the necessary selection criteria. Once selected, the organizer will provide convenient access to the Expo Site and sign relevant agreements with the other organizing parties.
