Customers will enjoy even more exclusive ownership, as the C 63 AMG Edition 507 is highly limited with only 350 units available for each model in the China market.

As an added surprise, AMG dazzled the crowd with a sneak preview of the A 45 AMG, the youngest member of the AMG high-performance family.

Armed with an AMG 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine, it boasts a peak power output of 265 kW and a peak torque of 450 Nm.

Together, these make it the world's most powerful volume-production four-cylinder engine.

A high-performance AMG 4MATIC system endows the vehicle with superior traction as well as more flexible and stable handling, and allows it to reach 100 km/h in an extraordinary 4.6 seconds.

The A 45 AMG rounds out the Mercedes-AMG lineup and builds upon the brand's recent momentum.

"Since entering China in 2007, AMG has attracted customers with its meticulous craftsmanship and cutting-edge technology, and in just six years the country has become one of our most important markets worldwide," Speeks said. Driven by its unwavering commitment to racing, AMG continues to pursue perfection on the racetrack. Such was the case at the AMG Awards Night, where the brand celebrated its victory at the GT Asia Series in Zhuhai this past October.

The race was the GT Asia Series debut for the AMG Erebus Motorsports team, comprising AMG China brand ambassador and two-time Formula One World Champion Mika Hakkinen, 17-year-old Hong Kong racing prodigy Matthew Solomon and seasoned AMG veteran Lance David Arnold.

Led by its trump cards - two SLS AMG GT3 supercars - the trio gave fans new reason to be more confident in the AMG brand.

But the surprises didn't end there.

As the entire AMG lineup took the stage, a set of racecars from the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters also roared into view. Pitting Germany's big three premium automakers against each other, the DTM is now slated to return to China in 2014.

As the most successful automaker in DTM competition history, Mercedes-AMG is poised to earn yet another title with its powerful C-Class Coupe.

"AMG first made its name on the racetrack.

"We will continue this legacy to build our brand here in China, advancing our 'Driving Performance' brand philosophy and bolstering our market position and brand awareness," explained Fred Duan, executive vice-president of Sales and Marketing at BMBS.
