A native of Kunming, capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province, Zhang worked as a financial translator after graduation from a UK university in 2003.
After becoming a mother, she started to buy various kinds of picture books for her daughter. One day when she read the book "A Cat That Lived A Million Times", she was deeply touched.
"It is such a beautiful book. I could not help sharing it with everyone I met," recalled Zhang, who is able to recite the lines after reading it so many times.
She decided to work with other mothers to open a small bookstore in their community.
