Whether for sports, touring or urban cruising, the latest additions to the Motorrad line-up offer safety, performance and driving pleasure
The new BMW C 650 Sport and C 650 GT - dynamic maxi scooters
With the new C 650 Sport and GT, BMW Motorrad combines practicality and cost-efficiency with maximum riding fun and touring comfort, and continues its series of premium vehicles in the maxi scooter segment.
Perfect for the city and urban environment, the maxi scooters provide enjoyment on winding country roads as well as riding fun on lengthier tours.
The C 650 Sport is geared towards riders with a sporty bent while the C 650 GT sets its sights on those who attach greater importance to comfort and touring capability.
The 2-cylinder in-line engine with a capacity of 647 cc ensures dynamic performance from the new C 650 Sport and GT. The rated output in both models is 44 kW at 7,500 rpm, and a variant is also available with 35 kW at 7,000 rpm.
A new continuously variable transmission set-up in conjunction with new clutch linings enables optimized clutch engagement and therefore a significantly more dynamic setoff response.
The suspension construction of the new products continues to use a torsional-stiff hybrid composite structure, consisting of a tubular steel bridge frame and a die-cast aluminum unit in the area of the swinging arm bearing.
An Antilock Brake System and Automatic Stability Control are equipped as standard for maximum safety when braking and accelerating. Side view assist is optional for the C 650 GT, , offering additional safety with the world's first SVA for two-wheel vehicles.
The new G 310 R - first BMW roadster under 500 cc
BMW Motorrad will be venturing into the motorcycle segments below 500 cc with its new BMW G 310 R. BMW believes single-lane vehicles can play an important role to solve the significant challenge of making mobility easier for customers, as these vehicles offer intelligent solutions to urban traffic mobility.
The G 310 R represents everything BMW Motorrad stands for: innovation, quality and a carefree relationship with its owner for many years. The roadster can run on the most diverse fuel qualities, meets all emissions standards and local requirements and takes the typical BMW premium aspiration to the segment under 500 cc.
One cylinder, light weight, powerful dynamic performance - the BMW G 310 R embodies the pure essence of a BMW roadster: it has neither too little nor too much of anything.
As a genuine BMW roadster, it masters a range of disciplines: just as happy winding its way nimbly and flexibly through narrow city streets as travelling supremely and powerfully along country roads.
The centerpiece of the new BMW G 310 R is a completely new 313 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, with four valves and two overhead camshafts together with electronic fuel injection. With an output of 25 kW at 9,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 28 Nm at 7,500 rpm, the engine is a very dynamic partner in conjunction with the low weight of 158.5 kilograms.
The new G 310 R offers a markedly relaxed seating position and sophisticated ergonomics for stress-free riding. A high-performance disk brake system and ABS are equipped as standard, as is a large LCD multifunction instrument cluster.
The BMW S 1000 XR - all good things come in fours
BMW Motorrad is now unveiling the fourth member in its line-up of high-power motorcycles with straight-4-cylinder engines and a distinctly sporty bias.
Dubbed "adventure sport", this new BMW Motorrad product serves up a distinctive mix of sporting and touring flair with a generous dose of emotion.
The engine, derived from the S 1000 R roadster, combines tremendous pulling power and exhilarating acceleration with a high peak output.
It has an output of 118 kW at 11,000 rpm and generates maximum torque of 112 Nm at 9,250 rpm. This abundant power make it ideal for providing punchy response at low and medium revs, ideal for trips with a passenger and luggage.
The motorcycle employs an aluminum-alloy perimeter frame in which the engine forms part of the load-bearing structure. Wheel suspension at the front and rear is handled by an adjustable upside-down fork and a double-sided swing arm with adjustable central spring strut respectively.
The new S 1000 XR comes with "Rain" and "Road" riding modes as standard. The standard-fit Automatic Stability Control ensures a high level of riding safety by optimizing traction.
The motorcycle can be equipped ex-works with the Pro riding modes option, which includes the additional riding modes "Dynamic" and "Dynamic Pro" along with Dynamic Traction Control and ABS Pro.
An innovative chassis with a new frame and Dynamic Electronic Suspension Adjustment is an available option. The chassis geometry has been completely redefined in order to cater to the specific requirements of the XR.
The motorcycle takes riding safety, performance and comfort to even greater heights, while also promising adventure sport at its very finest.
