Motorola Mobility, a subsidiary of Lenovo Group Ltd, has received 2 million smartphone orders on the Chinese mainland, said Yang Yuanqing, CEO of Lenovo.
The US-based smartphone maker will target high-end device demand in China, the world's largest market for mobile devices.
Months after Lenovo acquired Motorola for $2.9 billion, the smartphone brand announced its return to China in a bid to lift revenues. The company is losing money globally.
Yang said that by entering more emerging markets, Motorola would return to profit in at least five quarters from now.
