BERLIN - Germany's CeBIT, the world's top trade fair for information and communication technology, said Wednesday that it will focus on digitization this year and expects a huge presence from China.

The CeBIT 2015, hosted by Deutsche Messe AG, will be held during March 16-20 in Germany's central north city Hanover. China is the official Partner Country of the upcoming tech fair.

The top idea of CeBIT 2015 is wrapped up in the word "d!conomy" ("digital economy"). "Digitization is the megatrend," said Oliver Frese, board member of Deutsche Messe AG, on Wednesday in Hanover.

"Digitization is not only software or hardware. It is a strategic decision and cultural change that affects every company in every industry," he added.

Frese told reporters that visitors could find concrete answers to their individual questions at this year's event, which would show the entire range of digitization.

As for the partner country, Frese said China is making efforts to take a leading position in the international IT market with great innovative power.

According to him, China's Partner Country showcase, themed "Innovation, Convergence, Cooperation," will comprise exhibits from over 600 Chinese companies, featuring a wide range of high-tech firms, including big names like Alibaba, Huawei, Xiaomi and ZTE.

"China will be the strongest partner country of all time," he said.
