Chinese metals conglomerate Chinalco is willing to work with Canada's Ivanhoe Mines but a meeting between the two firms' chief executives last week was preliminary and brought no firm deals, the companies said.
Chinese banks will fund Aluminum Corp of China (Chinalco) in the $15.2-billion rights issue of Australian mining firm Rio Tinto, media reports said.
